Once again this year, the CNMV has organized the award ceremony for the 7th edition of the 2023 Antonio Moreno Espejo Journalism Award, which this year went to Cecilia Sánchez Prieto for her article “How will artificial intelligence contribute to the transformation of the asset management industry in the next five years?", published in Funds Society. The event was attended by the President of the CNMV, Rodrigo Buenaventura, the Vice President, Montserrat Martinez Parera, the President of the Jury and Advisor of the CNMV, Dolores Beato, and family members of Antonio Moreno, in addition to the winner herself. The other members of the jury also attended.
Juan Jose Dolado, Professor of Economics at the Mexico Mobile Number List Charles III University; Juan Prieto, General Director of Voting Advisors Corporation, and Patricia Suarez, President of the Association of Financial Users, ASUFIN. In addition to the quality of the work, the jury highlighted that the article addresses one of the most innovative, current topics and with the greatest potential impact on the economy and financial markets. The ruling highlights the breadth of sources consulted by the author and the ability to anticipate the consequences that the introduction of artificial intelligence can have on a wide variety of agents, products and processes in financial markets.
The award is announced in memory of Antonio Moreno Espejo, who was director of Authorization Registry of Entities at the CNMV for 15 years; a person of great values and great professionalism, who carried out his work with a high ethical sense. The initiative was created to recognize journalistic works that have stood out for promoting the integrity and transparency of the securities market, as well as the protection of investors' interests, values that guide the actions of the CNMV and that it must promote.
